Anyway, I have been laughing my arse off at my seven year old self for the past two days, so I thought you might as well join in on the ridiculousness that is mini me.
Loving the fake tan and leg warmers, Cyndi!
I don't know about this one, but the accuracy is amazing.
This actually explains a lot . . .
I was scrap booking before scrap booking was cool!
Holy fuck, I really do love winning!
And it appears my artistic abilities peaked in 1984
because I'm pretty sure I still draw sunsets like this:
Magritte can stick this in his pipe and smoke it.
Lmbo I think all of us drew sunsets that way, and like you that is probably how I would draw it now, despite knowing that is not a typical sunset lol.
ReplyDeleteI especially love your shamrock medal - were you an irish dancer too?
ReplyDeleteHa! Nope. I have no idea why I have a shamrock medal ;p
ReplyDeleteThere is a haunting melody that run’s through all of your work, that marks it as distinctive.
ReplyDeleteYour technique reveals a competence that can only come from talent that has been put through its paces- this work exudes the quality that comes only from the hard work of application and quest.
Boy George's hat hits us with a shock to the senses and draws us in for a closer look, to be rewarded by the more quiet changes in mood effected by masterly use of soft mark making that lulls us back to a sense of security.
:)
LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that in-depth critique of my work, and despite your smartassery, you are right about one thing -- I haven't changed much in 27 yrs. Ahem.
I have stacks and stacks of my daughter's first grade masterpieces, I am debating on which ones to tuck back in the archives to embarrass her with later in life. This helps give me a few ideas!
ReplyDeleteYES!! The boys come home with loads of crap but I'm very particular about what I think will be "keepers".
ReplyDeleteSo far, not much yet. LOL
Holy CRAP. The 80s were awesome...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Makes me wish I had my old stuff!
ReplyDeleteBeing the smart ass kind of Dad I had, he'd always ask me, "Why are there flying M's in the sky?" - I see you have them also. :)
ReplyDeleteBoy George and Cyndi Lauper are eerily similar in looks...
ReplyDeleteAt the wee age of seven you were turning in drawings of Cyndi Lauper and the Boy that was George. I have to say I'm impressed. Ellen
ReplyDeleteMan, if I could go back to 1984. I wonder what my mother has outside of the random photo she mails to me.
